The home was originally built in 1989 and was once a wolf sanctuary that housed up to 30 wolves in rehabilitation or being bred in captivity. After the wolves were removed, the home was purchased in 2006 and converted into a vacation rental, allowing other vacationers to enjoy the secluded location. With over 3200 square feet, 3 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, sleeping 8 to 10 people, 40 acres, a pond and direct access to the national forest and miles of hiking trails, the mountain estate is the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. With Starlink satellite internet and a 4G cell booster, you can stay connected to civilization, or unplug and disconnect completely. As part of the project, the private road was re-routed for 3/4 miles, ponds were reclaimed and enforced, and a Colorado Forest Management Plan was developed to prevent fires, disease and invasive species from spreading across the 40 acres of forest.

The Pinehurst Home was originally built in 1973 and includes over 3900 sf, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 3 car garage and .40 acre lot within the Pinehurst Country Club and Golf Course. Purchased in 2012, there were significant leaks and previous water damage requiring every restroom, kitchen and laundry to be completely updated. The Mountain Barn was originally built in 1989 to hold over 30 tons of hay in the 1200 sf storage loft, with horse stalls on the 1200 sf ground level, a 1500 gallon cistern for water, and storage for equestrian activities. Infrastructure construction included installation of a complete septic system, bringing power over 300' for new electrical systems, and underground plumbing for the 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom guest house. A new porcelain tiled deck and side sheds added over 1200 sf under roof for additional storage and parking. A complete new roof, fireplace system, and interior finishes including a finished slat wall storage system in the 3 car garage allows for plenty of space for short or long-term guests.
Lake House - 3 Story Atrium Replacement (After)
Ian's boyhood home from 1988 - 1994 was originally built by an Architect and his family in prior to 1979. The 4 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom, 1675 sf residence used cutting edge technology of it's time to provide a "living bead wall". The 3-story interior stone atrium wall faced south towards a 2 layer plexiglass exterior wall which could be filled with styrofoam beads. The daytime removable insulation helped with the passive solar system utilizing vacuum systems, pumps and underground storage containment. The bead wall system failed over time and was finally replaced in roughly 4 days, with help from family and friends to ensure weather didn't enter the residence. Using naturally stained redwood, highly insulative triple layered lexan, and reuse of structural steel brackets, the entire atrium was transformed to bring out the true beauty of the home.
The 4 bedroom, 3 bath, 2768 sf home was originally built in 1979. Purchased in 2002, the home was updated to replace dark wall paneling, reface the dark oak cabinets, update bathroom finishes, deck replacement and extensive landscaping. The home was part of the rental and property management portfolio from 2002 - 2012.
